Taylan Bulut returns to Gelsenkirchen to recover from illness

Taylan Bulut, who missed the home game against Hannover 96 due to an infection, will also not play for Germany U19s in their upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

After undergoing medical tests with the DFB, it has been decided that the right-back will not feature in the games against Slovenia, Finland and the Republic of Ireland. Instead, Bulut will return to Gelsenkirchen to recover from his illness and will then start individual training.

Max Grüger is now the only Schalke player away on international duty. He has been called up by head coach Hannes Wolf as Germany U20s prepare for two friendlies.

First, they will come up against Czechia on Friday (21/3) in Teplice. Three days later, their opponents in Potsdam will be Portugal (24/3).
