Dominick Drexler to train with the U23s until further notice

Head coach Karel Geraerts informed midfielder Dominick Drexler in a conversation on Tuesday (9/4) that he will be training with FC Schalke 04’s U23s until further notice.

“We need to stick together as team in the remaining games in order to stay up and each individual needs to work towards this goal – we’ve made that absolutely clear within the team. Dominick has placed himself above the team recently. Therefore, I’ve made the decision that Dominick will be part of the U23s until further notice,” Geraerts said.

The 33-year-old has made 12 competitive appearances this season. Drexler has played 28 minutes in 2024.
