Henning Matriciani suffers anterior cruciate ligament tear

Following his substitution in Saturday’s 2-0 friendly against VfL Osnabrück (10/1), Henning Matriciani has been diagnosed with a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The 25-year-old will undergo surgery next week.

“This is very tough news. Henning has given absolutely everything for the team in every training session over the past few months and in his appearance against Elversberg. We will do everything we can to support him in getting back to full fitness after the operation,” said Youri Mulder, director for professional football.

Ibrahima Cissé joins FC Aarau

Ibrahima Cissé, whose contract with FC Schalke 04 was due to expire in the summer, has left the club to join FC Aarau. The Swiss second-tier side has been one of the Royal Blues’ partner clubs since the summer of 2024. Both clubs have elected not to disclose the exact terms of the deal.
