Four S04 players training individually

There are currently four Schalke players that currently can’t take part in team training and are instead working on their own.

Team

After recovering from a thigh problem, Bryan Lasme has suffered an MCL injury in training. The attacker will therefore continue to work on his own for the time being.

Amin Younes will also work individually in the coming two weeks. The midfielder suffered a blow to his knee in the friendly against SC Verl and that has led to some pain.

Luca Podlech trained on his own on Tuesday (23/7) as the club manage his workload.

Lino Tempelmann is also not part of team training right now. The 25-year-old has chosen to continue his rehabilitation work in Munich.

Peter Balette completes S04 backroom staff

FC Schalke 04’s backroom staff has been completed just in time for the final phase of pre-season: Peter Balette is set to join Karel Geraerts’ team straight away and will take part in his first training session on Tuesday (16/7). The Belgian is the third new face on the backroom staff after Sidney Sam and Stephan Loboué (goalkeeping coach).

Emil Højlund joins Schalke 04

Striker Emil Højlund has joined FC Schalke 04 from FC Copenhagen. The 19-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a contract until 30th June 2028. The Dane will wear the number 15 for the club.
