FC Schalke 04 agree contract extension with Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara
U19s attacker Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara has extended his contract until 30th June 2028. The 18-year-old trained with the first team and appeared in a friendly for the first time before the winter break and was also part of the squad for the winter training camp at the start of 2025.
“Zaid is the latest talented player from our U19s to earn himself a professional contract on the back of some impressive performances. He has learnt a lot under Norbert Elgert over the last year and a half,” said Ben Manga, director for squad planning, scouting and the Knappenschmiede. “Zaid has done really well in training with the first team and has shown the kind of potential he possesses. We want to provide him with best possible support over the coming years to help him continue his development.”
The club’s plan for me for the coming years is really exciting and I’m looking forward to continuing our work together.
Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara commented: “I’m really thankful for my time so far at Schalke, where I’ve learnt so much. The club’s plan for me for the coming years is really exciting and I’m looking forward to continuing our work together.”
The right-footed forward has scored 21 goals and recorded three assists in 17 competitive games for the U19s this season. He has also made one appearance for the U23s in the fourth division. The winger was previously on the books at Bayer 04 Leverkusen until 2023. After two weeks out injured, Amoussou-Tchibara is expected to rejoin parts of team training next week.
