S04 to leave for training camp in Mittersill on Monday
FC Schalke 04 will head to the Ferienregion Nationalpark Hohe Tauern for their summer training camp for the eighth time on Monday (8th July). In Mittersill, head coach Karel Geraerts’ side will spend a week working hard to prepare for the challenges ahead in both the 2. Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.
Squad for the training camp:
Goalkeepers: Justin Heekeren, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, Michael Langer, Luca Podlech.
Defenders: Mehmet Can Aydin, Niklas Barthel, Vitalie Becker, Taylan Bulut, Anton Donkor, Adrian Gantenbein, Leo Greiml, Tomas Kalas, Marcin Kaminski, Henning Matriciani, Derry John Murkin, Martin Wasinski.
Midfielders: Janik Bachmann, Aris Bayindir, Max Grüger, Tobias Mohr, Ron Schallenberg, Paul Seguin.
Attackers: Kenan Karaman, Bryan Lasme, Sebastian Polter, Peter Remmert, Moussa Sylla, Amin Younes.
Ibrahima Cissé will not be part of the squad for the training camp. The centre-back is currently preparing for the Olympics with the Mali U23 side. The Schalke defender and his team qualified for the tournament in France, which begins on 24th July, after finishing third at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations last summer. Lino Tempelmann will also not travel to Mittersill. The midfielder will continue to train individually, as will Timo Baumgartl and Dominick Drexler.
As well as taking part in training sessions, the Royal Blues will also play two friendlies during their eight-day stay in Mittersill. They will firstly take on FC Midtjylland on Wednesday (10th July). The clash with the Danish champions in Saalfelden will kick off at 18:00 CEST. S04 will also face Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv on Saturday (13th July) at 16:00 CEST. The match will take place at the Stadion Mittersill, where Schalke will also complete their training sessions. Both games are presented by the Ferienregion Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.
