S04 head to Neustift im Stubaital on Monday for training camp

FC Schalke 04’s first team will continue their preparations for the 2025/26 season from Monday (7/7), courtesy of the club’s tourism partner Stubai Tirol. 33 players (28 outfield players, 5 goalkeepers) will make the trip to Austria.

Coach Miron Muslic talks to his players on the training ground.

One of the 33 players is Kenan Karaman, who underwent an operation for an injury to his meniscus in his left knee two weeks ago. S04’s captain will continue his rehabilitation programme in Stubaital with the rest of the team.

Janik Bachmann will not be able to train with the team at the start of the training camp. The midfielder suffered a thigh injury in the warm-up ahead of the friendly on Saturday (5/7) at 1. FC Bocholt. He will start his recovery work at the training camp. Amin Younes will also travel to Austria after coming off early in Bocholt. A decision on a possible return to training will be made on a day-to-day basis.

Taylan Bulut will also be part of the group travelling to Austria, having recharged his batteries with a week and a half off following taking part in the U19 European Championship, where Germany lost 6-5 in extra time to Spain in the semi-finals. The right-back’s pre-season will therefore start in Neustift. Goalkeeper Faaris Yusufu from the U23s has also been named in the squad for the training camp.

Ibrahima Cissé will continue to train with the U23s during pre-season. The centre-back featured in their friendly on Sunday (6/7) as they won 9-0 against 1. FC Iserlohn and he got himself on the scoresheet. Tomas Kalas and Zaid Tchibara will both be staying in Gelsenkirchen to continue working on their return from injury on their own.
