Stubaital remains tourism partner of S04: Knappen to head back to Austria for training camp this summer

Glück auf and servus, Stubai Tirol! After a successful first outing last year, FC Schalke 04’s first team will head down to the Austrian valley region of Stubaital from 19th to 26th July for another summer training camp ahead of the 2026/2027 season. The club’s partnership with local tourism association Stubai Tirol has therefore been extended to run until the end of the calendar year 2026.

Modern training environment and UEFA-compliant facilities

During the Royal Blues’ inaugural visit to the fairytale setting last summer, the Austrian municipality of Neustift im Stubaital offered both the team and the Schalke fans an ideal combination of state-of-the-art infrastructure and a distinctly alpine atmosphere, ensuring that the Royal Blues were able to focus on their pre-season preparations in the finest of conditions. When they return to the Tyrolean valley this July, the team will also have access to high-quality training facilities that meet UEFA standards.

“In our first trip to Stubaital last summer, we felt it represented the perfect environment for us and was a truly brilliant way to prepare for the upcoming season. We’re looking forward to more of the same this year. I’m excited to spend more time in Neustift, accompanied by so many travelling Schalke fans,” said director of professional football Youri Mulder.

Somebody else who can’t wait for Schalke’s next training camp set against the alpine backdrop is Adrian Siller, chairman of the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association: “We’re eagerly awaiting the next chance to welcome FC Schalke 04 to Stubaital this summer. I know that fresh mountain air and our special Tyrolean hospitality will make fans, players, and officials feel right at home. When you add to that both world-class training conditions and a head coach with roots in the region, we’re confident that the trip will also offer a lot to Schalke in a sporting sense. Until then, let me just say: Glück auf – see you in our alpine valley!”

Friendly match in Aue

Stopping off on the way to Stubaital on 19th July, FC Schalke 04 will face off against FC Erzgebirge Aue in a friendly contest. Kick-off at the eins-Erzgebirgsstadion is scheduled for 14:00 CEST. Information on the ticket pre-sale will be published over the coming weeks. The friendly match and the start of our summer training camp will cap off a weekend of Royal Blue events, with the club’s Annual General Meeting taking place on the Saturday, 18th July.
