28-man squad arrives in Stubaital for training camp
FC Schalke 04 arrived in Austria's Stubaital on Sunday evening (19/7), around an hour before kick-off in the World Cup final, having earlier beaten FC Erzgebirge Aue 4-2 in a pre-season friendly. Head coach Miron Muslic has taken a 28-man squad to Neustift, where the Royal Blues will spend the next week preparing for the 2026/27 season.
Dejan Ljubičić was among the players to arrive at the team hotel, with the Austria international joining up with the squad in Neustift following his involvement at the World Cup. Robin Gosens is also with the group after completing an individual training session in Aue earlier in the day. U23 goalkeeper Max Weiland and defender Magnus Rösner have also travelled to Austria.
The Royal Blues’ first training session will be at 11:30 CEST on Monday (20/7) at the former home of SSV Neustift, now FC Stubai. Two more pre-season friendlies are also on the schedule during the week in Stubaital. S04 will face Ukrainian top-flight side FC Kharkiv in Kematen at 16:00 CEST on Wednesday (22/7), before taking on Japanese top-flight club Fagiano Okayama at the Silberstadt-Arena in Schwaz at 16:00 CEST on Saturday (25/7).
