Bastian Oczipka: We scored some great goals

After Schalke’s 3-1 win against SV Wehen Wiesbaden which fired them into the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal, captain Ralf Fährmann and Bastian Oczipka spoke after getting two assists from the left flank.

Bastian Oczipka gegen den SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

Ralf Fährmann:

Of course, we have the better team on paper and I think you could see that on the pitch. I would have preferred us to have won by a few more goals. Mostly, I wanted Breel to score as he gives his all on the pitch for us. We’re developing as a team and wins always help – especially when we win by working hard. The bottom line is we deserved to go through.

Bastian Oczipka:

The most important thing was going through but we’re annoyed that we conceded and let Wiesbaden back into the game. We can’t let that happen. We scored some great goals. I had a lot of space for both my assists. However, it would have been much better to have made the result secure earlier on. We’re developing well as a team but there are moments that we have to show that we are a class above our opposition. When you do that, the result is completely out of the question. We’ll improve on that in time. On Saturday, we have another big game coming up. If we win against Wolfsburg, that puts us in a very nice position.
