The Cooperative: 190,400 shares for all who are part of us

Shaping the future of our club in a self-determined and positive way - that is the aim of “Auf Schalke eG”. With the combined strength of members and enthusiastic entrepreneurs, a royal blue movement is being created that will give FC Schalke 04 the necessary strength to master the challenges of the present and create prospects for the future - without weakening the right of the members of the registered association.

Auf Schalke eG i.G.

Why a Cooperative?

The “Auf Schalke eG” offers the club new opportunities to shape its future and fits in perfectly with the values of Schalke 04. In the registered association, democratic co-determination and solidarity are firmly anchored in the articles of association and mission statement – stated and created by the members themselves.

The Cooperative is based on the same principles and is supposed to make it possible to set up the club for the coming years and decades without having to become dependent on profit-driven investors. Because the fact is that FC Schalke 04 continues to be burdened by high liabilities and so the club’s ability to act remains limited to this day. In 2023 alone, the club spent 16 million euro on interest and repayments. This is money that must first be earned and is lacking in other areas. To be able to shape the future, the legacy burdens must be reduced. As a member of the Cooperative, you can play your part in significantly shortening this path

Who can become a member of the cooperative and when?

The approximately 190,000 club members of FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. can become part of the Cooperative – only they can acquire shares as individuals. Companies can also acquire shares as so-called legal entities. Each share costs 250 euros, plus an one-off entry fee of 75 euros, which is used exclusively for administrative purposes (500 euros entry fee for legal entities).

Regardless of the number of shares, each member – whether an individual or a company – has one vote. This is the basic cooperative idea of solidarity. Subscription will not start until the new year due to a change in the law on January 1st 2025. The exact date on which shares can be subscribed will be announced at a later date.
