Amine Harit made the crowd go wild with his skilful effort on Friday, making it 2-1. “I couldn’t hear myself think when the goal went in; it was so loud,” the match winner said about the atmosphere in the stadium. “It was simply amazing. Both for us as a team, and on a personal note. Three points, a goal and an assist – it was a perfect evening for me.”

David Wagner: Everybody is eager for Sunday

After a two-week break, Schalke are back in Bundesliga action on Sunday (15/9, 18:00 CEST) at SC Paderborn. Head coach David Wagner sensed his side’s excitement ahead of the game with the newly promoted side. “We actually don’t want to wait until Sunday,” said the 47-year-old, who is pleased with how the Royal Blues have trained over the past week.
