Schalke Coaches Enjoy Southern Hospitality in Atlanta

It was an action-packed weekend as some of Schalke’s Knappenschmiede coaches traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to conduct a series of events and clinics to promote the club’s partnership with Kick It 3v3. As Atlanta is home to one of the biggest Kick It tournaments in America, it was perfect timing for the club’s coaches and mascot Erwin to experience this amazing city first-hand and engage with the young players.

Like the coal industry, football – and especially FC Schalke 04 – is deeply connected to the so-called “Ruhrgebiet”, the Ruhr area. The men who founded Schalke in 1904 were working-class people who completed apprenticeships at the mine. Mining is therefore an essential part of our founding history; our founding fathers are born on coal.

FC Schalke 04 open an office in Shanghai

In an important step of part of FC Schalke 04’s expansion strategy, an office was opened in Shanghai, China on the 1st December 2018. This office will be the headquarters for all activities in Asia.

FC Schalke 04 to identify local talents in Atlanta with Kick It 3v3

FC Schalke 04 has announced that it will bring their partnership with Kick It 3v3, the largest grassroots soccer tournament tour in the US, to the next level with a series of events in Atlanta over the Dec. 15-16 weekend including youth soccer clinics, mascot tours and contests.

Midway through preseason, Omar Mascarell suffered a serious setback, injuring himself during a friendly. After weeks of hard work, the midfielder is now back in first team training and feels ready for the Bundesliga.

Previously “Mr. Reliable” from the penalty spot, Daniel Caligiuri missed a penalty against Hertha BSC for the first time. However the 30-year-old isn’t allowing himself to be disheartened after his miss. He has worked extremely hard during the international break with his remaining teammates, and is now hoping that will pay off.

Matija Nastasic could only watch Schalke’s loss to Hertha Berlin from the stands following his controversial sending off against Wolfsburg the week before. The defender spoke to us about the red card, his faith in the manager and his belief it won’t take long to start getting points on the board.

100,000 fans get a flavour for the new season

The ‘Schalke-Day’ has been a wonderful tradition for years and it was once more an unforgettable experience for the players, coaches, members of the board and fans alike. Just like last year, about 100,000 supporters swamped the stadium grounds on Sunday to get into the mood for the upcoming season.

All good things come in threes: The third and final jersey for the 2018/2019 season has landed at Schalke. The new alternate kit is now available at all Schalke fan shops and online at store.schalke04.de.

Ralf Fährmann remains Schalke captain, Naldo vice-captain

Schalke’s team captain will remain Ralf Fährmann. It was confirmed during the training camp in Mittersill that he would retain the armband, with Naldo his vice-captain. The Brazilian replaces the departed Leon Goretzka.
