Soufiane El-Faouzi signs new deal until 2030

FC Schalke 04 have secured the long-term future of Soufiane El-Faouzi, tying the midfielder down to a new contract until 2030 on the back of a stellar season. The new agreement does not include a release clause. Following his arrival from the 3. Liga, El-Faouzi started all 34 league matches during Schalke’s promotion-winning campaign, completing the full 90 minutes on 31 occasions.

Peter Remmert joins MSV Duisburg on loan

Peter Remmert will spend the next season in the 3. Liga, with FC Schalke 04 agreeing a loan deal with MSV Duisburg until 30th June 2027. The third-tier side do not have an option to buy. The striker made three appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for the Royal Blues last season, while also playing eleven times for the U23s in the Regionalliga West and scoring two goals.

Ilyes Hamache joins SC Cambuur

Ilyes Hamache has left FC Schalke 04 to join Eredivisie side SC Cambuur. The terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.

Attacker Junior Adamu joins FC Schalke 04

Junior Adamu is set to add intensity and flexibility to the Royal Blues’ attack after completing a move from SC Freiburg to FC Schalke 04. The 25-year-old, who has won nine caps for Austria, has signed a contract until 30th June 2029. Adamu spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish giants Celtic, where he celebrated winning both the league title and the Scottish Cup.

Schalke 04 sign Satoshi Tanaka

FC Schalke 04 have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Satoshi Tanaka from Fortuna Düsseldorf. The defensive midfielder made 13 appearances for Fortuna in the second half of last season, having previously been under contract at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan until December 2025.

Loris Karius has signed a new contract at FC Schalke 04, putting pen to paper on a new deal dated 30th June 2028. Karius was a key figure in Schalke winning promotion back to the Bundesliga, with the Royal Blues conceding a league-low 31 goals all season. Karius featured in 30 league matches in 2025/26, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.

Hasan Kuruçay was able to return to team training on Thursday (14/5), as the Royal Blues hosted a session open to the public at the Parkstadion. The centre-back had suffered a knock to the ankle during the home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf, and was therefore left out of the squad in Nuremberg last weekend.
