Academy product Luca Vozar signs new Schalke deal until 2029

The new deal is recognition of the Bottrop-born midfielder’s impressive development. Vozar has represented Schalke at every age group and his performances over the past year have earned him the opportunity to take the next step into senior football.

“Luca Vozar is a great example of the pathway we want to provide for players coming through the Knappenschmiede. Vitalie Becker and Mertcan Ayhan made the step up last season, and Luca has now been part of the first-team set-up since the summer. His technical ability and reading of the game really stand out. He also delivers dangerous set pieces and has a deadly left foot. We’ll continue to work closely with Luca and give him the support he needs to keep developing. He’s a popular member of the team, and everyone appreciates his determination to keep improving every day,” explained Youri Mulder, FC Schalke 04’s director of professional football.
