Omar Mascarell suffers small muscle strain

During the 1-0 victory against Angers SCO on Sunday 5th August, Omar Mascarell had to be taken off due to an injury after 31 minutes. After examination it has been shown that the Spanish midfielder has suffered a small muscle strain in the back of his thigh.

Benedikt Höwedes transfers to Lokomotiv Moscow

He has left lasting footprints in the history of FC Schalke 04, and now he is starting a new chapter in his career - Benedikt Höwedes has signed for Lokomotiv Moscow. The centre back has signed a four-year deal with the current Russian champions until 2022. In Jefferson Farfan and sporting director Erik Stoffelshaus, he’ll unite with two other former Royal Blue representatives.

Ideal conditions: Bernard Tekpetey will now play for SC Paderborn 07. The Royal Blues have agreed a deal with the newly promoted second division side for the services of the Ghanaian attacker, who will move to the Ostwestfalen-based side on a three year contract until 30 June 2021. A buy-back clause has been included in the sale of the 20-year-old.

3-1 against Hebei - Schalke score three in final five minutes

It was the second friendly of China’s Schalke Tour, though it wasn’t quite the spectacle witnessed in the 3-3 draw with Southampton last week. The Royal Blues defeated Hebei Chine Fortune 3-1 to return to Germany unbeaten in the Far East. Domenico Tedesco’s men struggled for long periods against their partner club, eventually sealing a 3-1 win in the final five minutes.

Schalke 04 and FC Erzgebirge Aue have come to an agreement regarding the transfer of Luke Hemmerich. The 20-year-old defender, who was on loan at VfL Bochum last season, signs a three-year-deal at the Bundesliga 2 club. The clubs wish the fees in the deal to be undisclosed.

Steven Skrzybski signs three year deal at Schalke

A childhood dream is fulfilled for Schalke’s latest addition. FC Schalke 04 have signed Steven Skrzybski from Bundesliga 2 side 1. FC Union Berlin. The 25-year-old joins on a three year deal until June 30th 2021. Skrzybski becomes the club’s fourth new addition to Domenico Tedesco’s side after Mark Uth, Salif Sane and Suat Serdar.
