Rodrigo Zalazar moves to Braga

After two seasons at FC Schalke 04, Rodrigo Zalazar will leave to join Braga, who finished third in Portugal’s Primeira Liga last season. The details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.

Rodrigo Zalazar back in Gelsenkirchen, Marius Bülter returns to team training

Marius Bülter has returned to team training at the start of the second week of pre-season. The attacker only trained individually last week after recovering from food poisoning. He therefore missed the friendly against SC Spelle-Venhaus on Saturday (3-0).

Squad update ahead of first training session of pre-season

Pre-season for the 2023/24 campaign kicks off for FC Schalke 04’s first team at 11:00 CEST on Monday 26th June at Parkstadion. Six members of the squad are set to miss the first team training session, which will be streamed live on S04’s official YouTube channel.

Rodrigo Zalazar scores twice on his Uruguay debut

Rodrigo Zalazar enjoyed a perfect debut for Uruguay during the night (15/6). FC Schalke 04’s midfielder scored twice in a 4-1 friendly win over Nicaragua in Montevideo.

Henning Matriciani and Tom Krauß named in final Germany U21s squad for European Championship

Henning Matriciani and Tom Krauß have been named in the final Germany U21s squad for the upcoming tournament in Romania and Georgia, to be held between 21st June and 8th July. Sepp van den Berg will also be involved in the tournament with the Netherlands. Elsewhere, Ibrahima Cissé will be in action with Mali in the U23 Africa Cup of Nations. Kenan Karaman, Jere Uronen, Alex Král and Rodrigo Zalazar are all also on international duty.

Rodrigo Zalazar: We need to keep climbing up the table!

There was huge applause for Rodrigo Zalazar from the travelling support when he was substituted in the final minute of regular time of FC Schalke 04’s 2-0 victory over local rivals VfL Bochum on Saturday (4/3). The midfielder directly contributed to both goals, providing the cross which led to Manuel Riemann’s own goal, and then taking the corner which was put away but Marius Bülter to double the Royal Blues’ advantage.
