Christoph Kresse appointed new chief scout of FC Schalke 04

The vacant position of chief scout at FC Schalke 04 has now been filled with the appointment of Christoph Kresse, effective from 1st November. Kresse will take on the overall responsibility for the club’s scouting department, and will play a big role in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The 31-year-old began his career as a match analyst for the DFB, going on to work in the same role at Arminia Bielefeld, Alemannia Aachen and 1. FC Köln. He then moved into scouting with Effzeh, leaving there for Wolfsburg after four years. His title with the Wolves was “Head of National Scouting”, with his remit also covering neighbouring countries Belgium and the Netherlands.

Christoph is a real expert in his field and continued to show that in his last job in Wolfsburg, where he did some good work.

“In Christoph Kresse, we have secured the services of somebody who knows the ins and outs of his job. He’s a real expert in his field and continued to show that in his last job in Wolfsburg, where he did some good work,” explained André Hechelmann. “During the conversations Peter Knäbel and I had with him, Christoph impressed us with his expertise, his large network and the approach he will take to leading the scouting team. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
