Christian Gomis joins CD Tenerife on loan with option to buy

Christian Gomis will spend the season on loan at Spanish second-tier side CD Tenerife in search of more regular game time. The 26-year-old attacker made 19 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, scoring once and providing one assist, as FC Schalke 04 won promotion back to the Bundesliga. Schalke have agreed a loan deal with CD Tenerife until 30th June 2027, which includes an option to buy.

“Christian Gomis decided towards the end of the transfer window that he wanted to move in order to have a better chance of playing regularly, and we fully support that decision. Given that he grew up in Spain, the move to CD Tenerife also makes perfect sense for him. I expect his physicality to make him a real asset for Tenerife this season. We wish him all the best for the year ahead,” said Youri Mulder, director of professional football at FC Schalke 04.

Christian Gomis joined Schalke from FC Winterthur in summer 2025 and remains under contract with the club until 30th June 2029.
