Zaid Tchibara suffers ACL tear

Zaid Tchibara tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the closing stages of the match against Darmstadt on Sunday (23/2). The injury was confirmed following an MRI the day after the game.

The attacker, who only recently signed a professional contract with the club before making his first-team debut against Karlsruher SC, will therefore be sidelined for several months. The player and the club will meet to discuss potential treatment options over the coming days.

“This diagnosis hurts more than the defeat,” said Youri Mulder, S04’s director of professional football. “We will support Zaid to the best of our abilities as he works his way back from injury and will be at his side during this tough time.” Mulder added that Tchibara is an extremely motivated individual, saying, “This quality will help him to be able to redirect his focus on what lies ahead. Zaid will work his way back. On behalf of the entire club, we wish him all the best for a full and fast recovery.”
