Despite the recent history of FC Schalke 04 Esports, some noteworthy achievements and titles tell the success story of the miners - both in the competitive strategy game League of Legends and in the football simulation FIFA.

League of Legends is played in a professional league structure whose top division is the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). This is where the ten best teams in Europe compete in a sporting competition.

FIFA

Among the notable successes of the miners in the football simulation FIFA include winning the national ESL championship as well as the German Championship of the virtual Bundesliga (VBL). In addition, the miners are the reigning European champions and vice-champions of the FIFA Club World Cup.

"Bundesliga Home Challenge": S04 meets VfL Wolfsburg

Over 2 million fans followed the "Bundesliga Home Challenge" last weekend. Meanwhile, four other teams joined the showcase initiated by the German Football League (DFL). On Sunday (April 5th) the Royal Blues meets VfL Wolfsburg. The match will kick off at 6.50 p.m. Former head coach and now member of the advisory board Huub Stevens agreed to take on the role of FIFA coach for the duration of the "Bundesliga Home Challenge".

“Tim Latka” wins Kick It E-Sports Tournament, Donates Prize Money Back to Partner Organization

As part of growing initiatives around the world to stay at home and flatten the curve, FC Schalke 04 partner, Kick It 3v3, hosted a digital FIFA tournament this past weekend, drawing a massive 844 competitors from across the globe. The field included none other than Schalke’s own Tim “Tim Latka” Schwartmann, who has been a member of the Royal Blues' FIFA team since 2016.

Bundesliga Home Challenge: Winning start in front of 4,500 Schalke fans

As football continues to be sidelined by the ongoing coronavirus crisis, 26 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs have come together for the inaugural “Bundesliga Home Challenge” tournament. FC Schalke 04 opened their account on Saturday (28.3) against FC St. Pauli. Schalke’s professional gamer Tim "Tim Latka" Schwartmann won his opening match 1-0, before Nassim Boujellab dominated his fixture 3-1 in front of 4,500 watching Schalke fans.
