Goncalo Paciencia, Salif Sané and Mark Uth back in team training

Following Klaas-Jan Huntelaar making his comeback from injury on Saturday against Borussia Mönchengladbach after his calf problem, three more players resumed team training on Tuesday. Goncalo Paciencia (knee surgery), Salif Sané (knee) and Mark Uth (thigh) all completed their first sessions back with the team.

Nabil Bentaleb and Hamza Mendyl face period on the sidelines

FC Schalke 04 will have to do without Nabil Bentaleb and Hamza Mendyl for the time being. Bentaleb underwent a minor surgical procedure on his groin on Tuesday, while Mendyl sustained an ankle injury in training.

Danny Latza chooses FC Schalke 04

The Royal Blues have made their first dip into the transfer market ahead of next season. Danny Latza will return to his hometown club after ten years away. The midfielder previously represented Schalke for 13 years in the academy and as a young professional. The 31-year-old has signed a contract until 2023 which will be extended by an extra year should Schalke achieve promotion in that time. The deal will not be affected by which division the club is in.

Juventus sign Weston McKennie on a permanent basis

Schalke officially bid farewell to a Knappenschmiede graduate: Juventus have signed Weston McKennie on a permanent basis. The midfielder joined the club in Northern Italy on a loan deal last summer.

Dimitrios Grammozis takes over as S04 head coach

FC Schalke 04 have appointed a new head coach: Dimitrios Grammozis has signed a contract with the Knappen until 30th June 2022. The man who made 143 Bundesliga appearances as a pro will meet his new team for the first time on Wednesday (3rd March). Sven Piepenbrock will also join the coaching team as an assistant alongside Mike Büskens.

FC Schalke 04 relieve sporting management of their duties with immediate effect

The 5-1 defeat in Stuttgart has resulted in several leadership changes at the club. On Sunday, 28 February, FC Schalke 04 relieved head coach Christian Gross and his assistant Rainer Widmayer of their duties. Sascha Riether, the first team coordinator and fitness coach, Werner Leuthard, have also been dismissed from their respective positions. The Supervisory Board also decided in their conference call that Jochen Schneider, Head of Sport and Communication, would leave the club with immediate effect.

FC Schalke 04 will be without Nassim Boujellab for the near being after the 21-year-old suffered a bad fall during a duel in team training on Wednesday (24/02).

Ralf Fährmann out with rib injury

Goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann suffered a broken rib in the first half of the Revierderby on Saturday (20/02). As a result, the 32-year-old will be unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Jochen Schneider to leave FC Schalke 04 in the summer

FC Schalke 04 and Jochen Schneider will go their separate ways in the summer. On Tuesday (16/02), the supervisory board reached an agreement with Schneider to relieve the Head of Sport and Communication of his duties on 30th June 2021. Schneider’s contract was due to run until 30th June 2022.

Nabil Bentaleb returns to first-team fold after discussions with head coach

Nabil Bentaleb has returned to training with the first-team squad. Following a discussion with Christian Gross, the head coach decided to bring the midfielder back into the first-team picture, with a possibility of the midfielder also making a return to the matchday squad.

Shkodran Mustafi remains in quarantine

Following discussions with the Gelsenkirchen health authorities, Shkodran Mustafi will remain in quarantine until Friday (5.2.). The new signing who joined the club from Arsenal may only leave to to train alone and isolated from the rest of the team at the FC Schalke 04 training ground.

S04 sign Shkodran Mustafi – Ozan Kabak moves to Liverpool

One centre-back has arrived from England, another has left for the UK. Ozan Kabak has joined Premier League champions Liverpool on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy included in the deal. Kabak is currently contracted at Schalke until 2024.
