Schalke 04 suffered three injuries during their 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin last Friday (25/01/19). Alessandro Schöpf and Benjamin Stambouli came off the worst.

Salif Sané to return to team training

Salif Sané’s injury sustained in Friday’s friendly isn’t as bad as first feared. The Senegalese defender was taken off during Friday’s match against KRC Genk with an ankle injury but luckily, he hasn’t suffered any structural damages. Sané underwent an MRT scan shortly after returning to Germany from Schalke’s winter training camp in Benidorm. The centre-back could return to team training on Tuesday, 15th January.

Midfielder Johannes Geis has left Schalke 04 to sign for second-division side 1. FC Köln. The clubs have agreed to keep the terms of the deal private. The 25-year-old’s contract would have expired at the end of the season.

With a heavy heart, FC Schalke 04 announce a departure from the club: Naldo has transferred to AS Monaco with immediate effect. The 36-year-old has signed a contract with the French side until the 30th June 2020. The clubs have reached a non-disclosure agreement regarding the terms of the transfer.

Seppo Eichkorn makes comeback to Schalke coaching staff

New signing for Domenico Tedesco’s coaching team: Seppo Eichkorn, who was an assistant coach for FC Schalke 04 between 2009 and 2013, will rejoin the S04 coaching team with immediate effect. He will travel with the team for the upcoming training camp in Benidorm, Spain, which gets underway on Friday (4th January).
