Orange Day: FC Schalke 04 take part in the International Day against Violence against Women

With the campaign “Orange The World”, the United Nations has been drawing attention to the theme of violence against women since 1991 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women takes place today on the 25th November. This year, UN Women Germany, are using the slogan “Stop Violence against Women”, and the Royal Blues are taking part in the campaign with their own video.

The facts and figures regarding violence against women in Germany paint a horrifying picture: in 2020, 148,000 women victims of violence from their partners. More than nine women are physically or sexually abused by their partner every single day. The BKA reported 359 women who were victims of attempted murder or manslaughter by their (ex-)partner, and 139 were killed by their (ex-)partner.

Tom Krauß wins Bundesliga “Rookie of the Month” for September

It’s another award for Tom Krauß: The Royal Blue’s midfielder, who has started every game this season and who recently got his first Bundesliga goal against FC Augsburg, has been voted the Bundesliga’s “Rookie of the Month” for September. The U21 international came out on top against Bartol Franjic (VfL Wolfsburg) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (Bayer Leverkusen). The DFL (German Football League) nominated the trio based on the value of their performances.

Tom Krauß nominated for Bundesliga Rookie of the Month in September

This season, the Bundesliga is once again shining a spotlight on the league’s best young talents, as part of the Rookie of the Month Award. S04’s Tom Krauß is part of September’s nominees, alongside Bartol Franjic (VfL Wolfsburg) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (Bayer 04 Leverkusen).

Tom Krauß is Schalke’s Player of the Month

Schalke fans have voted: Tom Krauß was your Schalke Player of the Month. The Germany U21 received a whopping 78 percent of the vote, which was presented by our partner Hagedorn. Dominick Drexler (12 percent) and Tobias Mohr (10 percent) placed second and third.
