Yusuf Kabadayi in action as international break draws to a close

The Germany U20s had mixed fortunes in their last two fixtures of the year, beating Romania 1-0 on Friday before falling to a 3-2 defeat against England on Monday. Both games were decided by last-minute winners.

On Friday, Ben Bobzien, who is currently on loan at Austrian first-division side FC Lustenau from 1. FSV Mainz 05, scored the only goal of the game in the second minute of added time. Kabadayi started against Romania and was replaced in the 70th minute.

Our number 17 came on in the 70th minute of the game against England three days later. Kabadayi picked up the ball in a promising position shortly after coming on, but was fouled by Nelson Abbey before he could get a shot away (79’). The Reading defender was sent off as a result of the challenge.

Despite being a man down, SC Heerenveen’s Charlie Webster gave the Three Lions the lead in the dying seconds of normal time. Paul Warner had opened the scoring for Germany in the eighth minute before Mateo Joseph levelled things up after half an hour. Germany took the lead again thanks to an own goal from Martial Godo with ten minutes to go in the first half, but England equalised again through Samuel Edozie in the 59th minute.
