Felipe Sanchez joins Santos Laguna on loan

Centre-back Felipe Sanchez has left FC Schalke 04 to join Mexican top-division side Santos Laguna on a season-long loan deal. The two clubs have agreed that an obligation to buy will be triggered if Sanchez makes a certain number of appearances for the Torreón-based side during the 2026/27 season.

The 22-year-old Argentinian joined the Royal Blues in summer 2024. After featuring in five 2. Bundesliga matches during his first season at the club, the defender made 25 league appearances in Schalke’s promotion-winning campaign.

Felipe is still a young player and needs lots of minutes to develop as a footballer.

Peter Remmert will spend the next season in the 3. Liga, with FC Schalke 04 agreeing a loan deal with MSV Duisburg until 30th June 2027. The third-tier side do not have an option to buy. The striker made three appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for the Royal Blues last season, while also playing eleven times for the U23s in the Regionalliga West and scoring two goals.
