Ilyes Hamache joins SC Cambuur

Ilyes Hamache has left FC Schalke 04 to join Eredivisie side SC Cambuur. The terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.

“Following the end of his loan spell, we spoke to Ilyes about his future. Regular playing time is important for his development, so this move makes sense for everyone involved. We wish Ilyes all the best for this new challenge in Leeuwarden and for the future,” explained Schalke’s director of professional football Youri Mulder.

Hamache joined the Royal Blues from Valenciennes FC in summer 2024 and made 11 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at French second-tier side Amiens SC, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 32 competitive appearances.

Goalkeeper Loris Karius extends his contract at FC Schalke 04

Loris Karius has signed a new contract at FC Schalke 04, putting pen to paper on a new deal dated 30th June 2028. Karius was a key figure in Schalke winning promotion back to the Bundesliga, with the Royal Blues conceding a league-low 31 goals all season. Karius featured in 30 league matches in 2025/26, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.
