Dylan Leonard joins Alemannia Aachen on loan
Dylan Leonard will spend the remainder of the 2026/27 season on loan at Alemannia Aachen, where he will have the opportunity to gain regular game time in the 3. Liga.
Dylan Leonard joined Schalke in September 2025 and became eligible to play for the club from 1st January 2026. He had previously been with Western United FC in Australia. After recovering from an ankle injury, the defender made his first appearances for Schalke in the spring. He featured twice in the 2. Bundesliga and also made one appearance for the U23s in the Regionalliga West. Following the end of the season, Dylan Leonard received his first senior Australia call-up, joining the Socceroos’ train-on squad for their pre-World Cup camp in Florida.
We’ll follow his progress closely during the loan because we believe strongly in the potential he has at such a young age.
“We firmly believe that Dylan Leonard is a very talented player who can operate in several defensive positions. At this stage of his development, regular game time is particularly important. Dylan will have far more opportunities to get that at Alemannia Aachen in the 3. Liga than he would with us in the Bundesliga. We’ll follow his progress closely during the loan because we believe strongly in the potential he has at such a young age,” said Youri Mulder, director of professional football at FC Schalke 04.
