Adil Aouchiche signs long-term Schalke deal without release clause

Adil Aouchiche joined Schalke from Sunderland in January, having previously spent time on loan at Aberdeen FC. The 24-year-old made 14 appearances during the second half of Schalke’s promotion-winning season, contributing three goals and five assists. He also made his senior international debut for Algeria in March 2026. Aouchiche came through the academy at Paris Saint-Germain and represented France at various youth levels.

Youri Mulder, director of professional football at FC Schalke 04, said after the contract extension: “Adil Aouchiche improved our team from the moment he arrived. He became one of our key players during the second half of the season and played a major part in helping us win promotion to the Bundesliga. His intelligence on the pitch and outstanding technical ability, along with the quality he offers as a creator, from set pieces and in front of goal, give us every confidence that he will also be an important player for us in the Bundesliga. We also believe he still has the potential to develop even further.”

Adil Aouchiche is equally pleased to have committed his future to FC Schalke 04: “When I arrived in the winter, I joined a team where the coaching staff and my teammates immediately showed a lot of faith in me. That’s a great feeling for any new player. My personal aim is to perform as well as I possibly can for the team every week while continuing to improve as a player. I want to take my game to the next level as a Schalke 04 player.
