Vitalie Becker signs new contract until 2030

Schalke 04 have continued to shape their squad for the future by handing another Knappenschmiede graduate a new deal. Vitalie Becker has signed a contract running until 30th June 2030. The 21-year-old left-back, who was born in Bottrop, has been at Schalke since joining the club’s U9s and won the German U17 title with the Royal Blues in the summer of 2022.

Vitalie Becker signs his contract alongside Maximilian Lüftl and Youri Mulder.

Vitalie Becker made 21 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, scoring twice and providing one assist. He started each of the first 18 matchdays under head coach Miron Muslic, with the exception of one game he missed through suspension after accumulating too many yellow cards, before injury ruled him out for part of the second half of the season.

Youri Mulder, Schalke 04’s director of professional football, is delighted that Becker has extended his stay: “With Vitalie’s previous contract coming to an end next summer, it was very important to us that we sat down together and mapped out his future. He’s a Knappenschmiede graduate who took a huge step forward with our promotion-winning side last season. Vita has impressed us with his ability on the ball, as well as his hard work, courage and passion. The progress he’s made has been remarkable, and we believe there’s still plenty more to come. He has our full confidence and is an important part of our plans for the years ahead.”

To now have the chance to play in the Bundesliga with my club is incredibly special.
