A gut-wrenching result: A bitter pill to swallow for all those in Royal Blue as Werder walk away with all three points. Yevhen Konoplyanka put Schalke ahead after 24 minutes, Max Kruse equalised after 79 before Zlatko Junuzovic snatched the winner deep into stoppage time.

Domenico Tedesco: We need to be patient and not lose our focus

With their 2-1 win over Werder Bremen in their first encounter this season, Schalke achieved something that they hadn’t for six months - win two Bundesliga games in a row. The Royal Blues now have the chance to do something similar this Saturday when Bremen are the visitors to Gelsenkirchen (3rd February, 15:30 CET). After soundly beating VfB Stuttgart 2-0, a win over Werder would be their second in a row once again.

FC Schalke 04 have claimed their first win of the Rückrunde seeing off VfB Stuttgart in emphatic fashion this afternoon. Courtesy of two quick fire goals from Naldo (14’) and Amine Harit (19’), Schalke ran into a 2-0 early on which they held throughout.

Pjaca scores on full debut but Schalke held by Hannover

The Royal Blues missed their chance to claim a first win of 2018 on Sunday by conceding a late equaliser to Hannover 96 in the Veltins Arena. January loan signing Marko Pjaca had scored on his full debut for Domenico Tedesco’s side, only for Niclas Füllkrug to poke home a late leveler.
