Schalke win first competitive game of 2018/19 - beat Schweinfurt 2-0

Goals in either half – one from Nabil Bentaleb from the spot and an own goal from a Matija Nastasic header – were enough to see off the spirited Regionalliga side 2-0 in front of 15,000 on Friday night.

Three appearances in the DFB-Pokal, three goal involvements. If Mark Uth had it his way, this personal success story will continue on Friday (17.8) against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. “That wouldn’t be bad, would it?” Uth joked. However for new signing Uth, not underestimating the opposition is more important than scoring a goal himself.
