Rapid friendly ends in 2-2 draw

Schalke’s first friendly of the winter break against Rapid Vienna ended in a 2-2 draw. The Royal blues led 2-0 at the break but the hosts staged an impressive second half comeback.

Friendly against FC Zürich added to the diary

The Royal Blues have another friendly to look forward to during their winter training camp in Belek. Thomas Reis’ side will come up against the reigning Swiss champions FC Zürich on Saturday 7th January (15:30 local time). The match will be played at the Titanic Deluxe Football Centre.

Schalke have found their final opponent for a friendly during the break for the World Cup. The Royal Blues will play Hajduk Split away on Friday, 16th December (18:00 CET) at Stadion Poljud in Croatia.

FC Schalke 04 have agreed a friendly with SK Rapid Vienna for Friday, 9th December in Austria. Thomas Reis’ side will play at 19:00 CET at the Allianz-Stadion.

After a brace in Gütersloh: Terodde anticipates playing in front of 60,000 Schalke fans

Simon Terodde needed just two minutes after having been subbed on to make his mark in Thursday’s friendly at FC Gütersloh. Having put his side 2-0 up, he added another shortly afterwards. “I’m always happy when I put it in the back of the net. Scoring is fun,” the 34-year-old said after the 3-0 win at the Ohlendorf-Stadion in Heidewald.

After his first full 90 minutes, Leo Greiml is hungry for more

Leo Greiml completed a full 90 minutes for Schalke’s first team on Thursday (22nd September) for the first time. In a 3-0 win in a friendly against FC Gütersloh, the 21-year-old put in a good performance in central defence – but he emphasised nevertheless that he has room to improve.

Terodde at the double in 3-0 win over Gütersloh

FC Schalke 04 claimed a 3-0 win in Thursday’s (22/9) friendly away at Oberliga side FC Gütersloh. Danny Latza opened the scoring (25’) in front of 2,753 spectators at the Ohlendorf-Stadion, with two goals in quick succession from Simon Terodde wrapping up victory (76’, 84’).

Friendly planned against FC Gütersloh

FC Schalke 04 have arranged a friendly for the first international break of the season. Frank Kramer’s side will take on Westphalian Oberliga side FC Gütersloh on 22nd September. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 CEST at the Ohlendorf Stadium im Heidewald.

Leo Greiml: I will work towards this moment with full commitment

Leo Greiml collected his first minutes in an S04 jersey in a training match against SV Schermbeck on Saturday (23/7). The Austrian came on half an hour before the final whistle in a 6-0 victory against the Oberliga Westfalen opponents.

Saturday saw the Royal Blues play out a training game against fifth-tier SV Schermbeck. The match, played at Schalke 04’s training ground, saw Frank Kramer’s side win 6-0.

A dream free-kick, a sideways scissor-kick and a display of individual quality shortly before the final whistle – these were the three moments on Friday (22nd July) which handed a 3-1 loss to FC Schalke 04 against Dutch top-flight side FC Twente in the final pre-season friendly before competitive matches kick off. The two goals conceded in the dying minutes of the match are what frustrated Frank Kramer.

S04 lose 3-1 in friendly at FC Twente

FC Schalke 04 were beaten 3-1 by FC Twente on Friday evening (22/7). 26,000 fans at De Grolsch Veste enjoyed an entertaining pre-season friendly, in which Marcin Kaminski put S04 ahead early on. Michael Vlap (13’) quickly equalised and the Tukkers scored twice late in the game to seal the win.
