Hard work ahead in Austria – S04 travel to Mittersill

The Royal Blues start the final part of their pre-season with a nine-day training camp in Mittersill, Austria. The camp will look to build further foundations and work on implementing various playing concepts ahead of the start of the competitive season in just two weeks’ time.

Hebei China Fortune FC and FC Schalke 04 intensify cooperation

On Tuesday (23.7.) a royal blue delegation led by Alexander Jobst, board member for marketing and communications, and Peter Knäbel, Schalke’s senior director youth development, visited Hebei China Fortune FC in Langfang and met with the club’s general manager Jun LI and sports director Jun LV.

Taking the positives into the rest of pre-season

After six training sessions in Herzlake and the 2-1 friendly defeat to Norwich City on Friday evening (19/7) in Lotte, the Royal Blues have returned home to Gelsenkirchen. The team will continue working hard before the next training camp in Mittersill (26th July – 3rd August).

Jochen Schneider clarifies current situation with Alexander Nübel

Alexander Nübel has joined back up with the squad after winning a silver medal at the recent U21 European Championship in Italy and San Marino. The keeper will be a part of Schalke’s goalkeeping roster for the coming season along with fellow teammates Michael Langer and Markus Schubert.

Two debuts, one opinion

Markus Schubert and Jonjoe Kenny made their Schalke debuts in yesterday’s 2-2 friendly draw in Wattenscheid. The two players sang from the same hymn sheet after the full-time whistle: “It was fun and a good feeling.”

It was clear to see that the new Royal Blues’ coach was full of joy during the opening session. “It’s great to be back here again,” said the coach, who more than 20 years ago was himself a Schalke player.
