Emmanuel Gyamfi signs professional contract

Emmanuel Gyamfi has signed his first professional contract at FC Schalke 04 following five years in the academy. The contract is valid until 30th June 2028.

“As a talent from the academy, we’ve given Emmanuel a long-term contract because we’re convinced that he’ll unlock his potential in the coming years. We want to give him time to establish himself in professional football,” said Marc Wilmots. “Emmanuel has made a very good impression in the friendlies and training sessions. He’s got a good left foot and is purposeful in attack.”

We want to give Emmanuel time to establish himself in professional football.

Emmanuel Gyamfi is looking forward to the time ahead: “I’d like to thank those in charge at Schalke for their trust. I’ve constantly continued to develop over the last few years in the academy and I’d now like to take the next step in professional football.”

Before Gyamfi joined the academy in 2019, the left-footed midfielder played for VfR Oberhausen, VfB Speldorf, SG Essen-Schönebeck and Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 19-year-old has been playing for Schalke’s U23s since last summer following a successful period in Schalke’s U16s, U17s and U19s. He has featured 21 times in the Regionalliga West, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
