Maya Yoshida: I always believed in us

Schalke have conceded just one goal from six games in the second half of the season, an impressive feat. On top of that excellent defensive record, Thomas Reis’ side are now unbeaten in six games too after winning 2-0 in Bochum on Saturday (4/3). One key figure has been defender Maya Yoshida, who has started all these matches and been solid at the back alongside Moritz Jenz and in front of goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann.

The midfielder directly contributed to both goals, providing the cross which led to Manuel Riemann’s own goal, and then taking the corner which was put away but Marius Bülter to double the Royal Blues’ advantage.
