Alex Král’s Czech Republic hit five, Kerim Calhanoglu features for U20s

Two Royal Blues were in international action on Wednesday evening, with both Alex Král and Kerim Calhanoglu getting 90 minutes under their belt. Král’s Czech Republic hit five past the Faroe Islands, whereas Kerim Calhanoglu featured in a 2-2 with the Germany U20s.

Yoshida, Král, Krauß and Calhanoglu called up for international duty

The Bundesliga is done for 2022. The majority of the Schalke squad will spend the next two weeks on holiday following performance tests on Tuesday (15/11). Maya Yoshida is off to the World Cup with Japan, while Alex Král will be with the Czech national team for two friendlies. Tom Krauß and Kerim Calhanoglu are also due to feature for Germany youth sides.

Alex Král: It was a step in the right direction

Alongside Werder Bremen’s Romano Schmid, Alex Král was the fastest player on the pitch during Saturday’s match (05.11). The Czech was always involved in the action, showed lots of drive to get in front of goal and was almost able to celebrate his first goal in a Schalke 04 shirt. He was able to enjoy his 17th minute goal briefly before it was ruled out due to Kenan Karaman, who provided the assist, being in an offside position in the build up.

Tom Krauß features against England – Sepp van den Berg and Maya Yoshida keep clean sheets

The final round of international games on Tuesday (27/9) saw four Schalke players involved. Tom Krauß, Sepp van den Berg and Maya Yoshida all played, whilst Alex Král was an unused substitute for Czech Republic in their defeat to Switzerland.
