Chief financial officer Peters to leave Schalke on 30th June 2020
Peter Peters will be leaving Schalke after 27 years at the club. The club’s supervisory board granted his request to have his contract dissolved on Friday (05.06).

Peter Peters has been at FC Schalke 04 since 1993, first as managing director and later as director of finances and organization. Schalke’s status as one of Europe’s 15 most valuable clubs is due in large part to his work. The construction of the VELTINS-Arena is, and will continue to be, associated with Peters’ name. At the same time, he has helped guide the club through several challenging economic times.
FC Schalke 04’s supervisory board, under chairman Clemens Tönnies, have accepted Peter Peters’ request to have his contract dissolved. “For nearly three decades, Peter Peters has played a decisive role in shaping our club. He was part of making courageous and longsighted decisions that were in the best interests of the club. Without him, Schalke would not be the club that it is today. For that, he deserves our thanks.”
Peter Peters: “I would like to thank FC Schalke 04 for an always nice and sometimes challenging time here. In particular, I would like to say thank you to the many people here that have become my friends.”
