Sidney Sam moves to VfL Bochum
A new club for an ex-Germany international: Sidney Sam has transferred to neighbours VfL Bochum. The attacking midfielder had kept fit in recent weeks at the second division side. The 29-year-old’s contract with FC Schalke 04 will run out at the end of this season. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.

The Royal Blues signed Sam from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014. He made 13 Bundesliga appearances for the Blue-Whites. He also played five times in the Europa League, three times in the Champions League and once in the DFB-Pokal. He featured 12 times in the Regionalliga West for the Schalke U23s, scoring three goals.
In the second half of last season, the midfielder was loaned out to SV Darmstadt 98. He played 12 times for the Lilies, scoring twice.
