Mauro Zalazar plays 90 minutes of 2-0 win over Peru to seal progression to knockouts

Mauro Zalazar and Uruguay just keep on winning at the South American U20 Championship. In their third and penultimate group stage match of the continental competition taking place in Venezuela, the Royal Blue midfielder and his team celebrated a 2-0 win over Peru late Wednesday night (29/01). The victory sees the “Celeste” seal early qualification for the knockout phase.

Zalazar was named in the starting line-up as for the previous clashes with Chile (2-1) and Paraguay (6-0). The right-footed player was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes at the Estadio Metropolitano de Fútbol de Lara in Cabudare, with the goals scored by Renzo Machado (6’) and Patricio Pacifico Dominguez (13’).

Uruguay next take on hosts Venezuela in their final group game on Saturday (01/02).
