…his first Bundesliga games:
My first match in the Bundesliga was special for me. The atmosphere in both the first two games was incredible and I really enjoyed testing myself against the best players in front of these kinds of crowds. I kept my shirt from the first game and gave it to my wife to thank her for all her support along the way.

…his first few weeks at Schalke:
I feel right at home here and I’ve felt really settled since my first day. I already know a bit about the region as I originally come from Aachen. This obviously helps you to play better too.

…the team and his targets with the club:
The game against Gladbach showed that we can hold our own in the Bundesliga. We need to work hard in every match and perform well for 90 minutes to stay up. Personally, I need to consistently play well for the team and establish myself in the Bundesliga.

…what he’s most looking forward to:
I’m excited for a number of special games, but mainly the derbies against Borussia Dortmund. I can still clearly remember Schalke’s 4-4 comeback in Dortmund in 2017 and I know how special these games will be this season.

…the next game against VfL Wolfsburg:
We want to play like we did against Gladbach – and do even better if we can. I have personally never played against Wolfsburg and I just hope that I can help the team out with a good performance.
