Karel Geraerts: Some nicely worked goals

After a successful training camp in Albufeira, coach Karel Geraerts was fairly pleased with his team’s final friendly before the return of competitive football. The Belgian was satisfied with the first-half performance in particular in the 3-1 win over KAS Eupen on Saturday (13/1). “We were well organised, scored two nicely worked goals and did well overall in possession,” said the head coach.

3-1 win over KAS Eupen thanks to Terodde and Idrizi

FC Schalke 04 won 3-1 against KAS Eupen on Saturday (13/1) in their final friendly before the 2. Bundesliga restarts. Simon Terodde scored twice and Blendi Idrizi also got himself on the scoresheet at the VELTINS-Arena against the Belgian first-division side, who had 2022 promotion hero Victor Pálsson in their ranks. The Iceland international was given a warm reception by the 14,964 fans in attendance.

Final friendly to provide reunion with Victor Pálsson

FC Schalke 04’s final friendly before the second half of the season will be on Saturday (13/1, 13:30 CET) against KAS Eupen at the VELTINS-Arena. The Belgian club’s squad includes Victor Pálsson, an S04 promotion hero from 2022. The Icelandic defensive midfielder has been an Eupen player for six months, starting every game since joining and only missing three minutes in all competitions.

Schalke 04 defeated by KAS Eupen in practice game

The Royal Blues used the current international break to hold a practice game and faced off against Belgian second-tier side KAS Eupen. The match took place at Schalke’s training ground and some players from the Knappenschmeide featured in the game. The final result was 5-1 to the visiting side.
