Leo Greiml requires a meniscus operation – fourth centre-back out injured

“We’re really gutted for Leo,” said sporting director Rouven Schröder. “He did really well to come back following his ACL injury and his fighting spirit will help him to return as quickly as possible again.”

Greiml is Schalke’s fourth centre-back to now be on the injury list. Marcin Kaminski (cut to his calf), Ibrahima Cissé (muscle injury), Sepp van den Berg (ligament injury) will also be out for the rest of the year. The same applies to Rodrigo Zalazar, who has broken his metatarsal.
