Pre-season schedule: Training to get underway at the Parkstadion- first friendly opponent confirmed

36 days after winning the 2. Bundesliga and returning to the top flight, Schalke will begin their preparations for the 2022/23 season. The first training session will take place on Wednesday 22nd June at the Parkstadion. Entry to the session (approx. 11:00 CEST start) is free.

Frank Kramer: I’ll play my part to help us achieve our goal

The Royal Blues will go into the new season with the aim of securing Bundesliga survival with new head coach Frank Kramer at the helm. One hour after the announcement of his appointment on Tuesday (7/6), the new coach officially introduced himself at a press conference and answered the questions media’s questions.

“We are on the right path,” was how Christina Rühl-Hamers, board member responsible for finance, described the club’s financial reporting for 2021. Despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, the Royal Blues have been able to strengthen their financial ability to act and recorded significant improvement in key figures in comparison to last year.

United in solidarity and peace

A special matchday with a special motto: FC Schalke 04 and new partner VIVAWEST are making peace the focus of their first home game together. In addition to special lettering on the team’s shirts reading “ToGEther for peace,” the two partners and their respective foundations are also announcing a charitable cooperation.

Bernd Schröder: Schalke has to move forward and lead the way

After joining the club as the new CEO on 1st January 2022, Bernd Schröder was presented to the media, fans and members in a press conference on Tuesday (8/2). Together with Christina Rühl-Hamers and Peter Knäbel, the 55-year-old discussed his work so far with his colleagues, his first impressions of FC Schalke 04 and his aims and goals for the future.

Bernd Schröder: I can’t wait to get started at Schalke

Bernd Schröder is ready to get to work auf Schalke. The 55-year-old has filled the position of CEO at Schalke, with his first day in the new role coming on Monday (3/1). He had been selected to fill the position in September after being identified as the best candidate following a selection committee organized by Schalke’s supervisory board.

Schalke 04 training camp in Belek cancelled

FC Schalke 04 have decided not to travel to the planned training camp in Belek, Turkey. The decision was taken following discussions with the medical department as well as correspondence with the relevant authorities with consideration given to the current coronavirus situation and especially the growing spread of the Omicron variant.

Rouven Schröder: We’re ambitious and want to win something

FC Schalke 04 signed off for the winter break with a highly-deserved 1-1 draw away to Hamburger SV. Rouven Schröder looks back positively on the first portion of the season. "Our recent performances, especially the ones against Nürnberg and Hamburg showed that we’re on a good road," said the 46-year-old. "Now the focus is on not letting up. We have to carry on working hard on ourselves do that we can be pleased at the end of the season."

Simon Terodde named as the NRW Footballer of the Year

Schalke’s striker Simon Terodde has been voted as North Rhine-Westphalia’s Footballer of the Year for 2021 by the fans. He beat off competition from Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen), Simon Zoller (VfL Bochum) and Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach).

FC Schalke 04 release statement on the VAR incident in Bremen

The day after the tough 1-1 draw in Bremen, FC Schalke 04 have completed their review of the closing minutes of the game. The club have come to the conclusion that it will not lodge an official complaint. After a thorough legal review, the Royal Blues have decided to not pursue a legal challenge of the decision, due to the slim chances of it being successful.
